W-axis Carriage: An “A-framed” shaped structure houses the three rollers (X, Y and Z axes) and the strippers. The rollers are equally spaced circumferentially at 120 degrees apart. A 120 horsepower motor through an eight inch ballscrew drives the carriage from right to left along precision ground ways. The flowforming action is facilitated by the combination of the rollers applying the axial hydraulic force to the workpiece and the longitudinal movement of the carriage.
