Aluminum Thin Wall Tubes

Since the mid-1980s, Dynamic Flowform has used the precision flowforming process to produce aluminum thin wall tubes. Flowformed aluminum thin wall tubes are used in military, nuclear, medical, industrial and other applications. All flowformed components, including aluminum thin wall tubes, are seamless which eliminates any problems of weld failure and eliminateds the the cost of welding and its related manufacturing and testing problems. In fact, for a myriad of reasons, it is often more economical to flowform aluminum thin wall tubes than to create them through other manufacturing methods; such as machining solid bar and/or roll and welding sheet. In addition to economical advantages, by flowforming the aluminum thin wall tubes, there are often dimensional, mechanical and metallurgical benefits. For example, flowformed aluminium thin wall tubes have an excellent combination of tensile strength and ductility.

Our flowformed components range in size from diameters of 0.866” to 25.600” (22-650mm), wall thicknesses from 0.006” to 0.600” (0.15-15mm) with lengths up to 26.5 ft. (8 meters). Since flowform poses no limitations on the relationship between components diameter and wall thickness, quite often we produce large diameters with precise thin walls.
